Spiritual Orphans Err

Mark 12:24: And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?

All spiritual errors are caused by not knowing the scriptures AND the power of God. Not knowing the scriptures is to almost everyone an obvious cause of spiritual error. But the scriptures and the power of God work together to prevent error. If one knows the scriptures but not the power of God he still errs.

John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Knowing the power to become the sons of God is the first and most important power of God that men can know. Personally experiencing this power of God causes one to understand this and other powers of God like he never could without experiencing them.

One who has not received Jesus and has not become a child of God is a spiritual orphan. Orphans cannot know a father like children with fathers can. There are many things that orphans can only guess or wish about fathers but cannot actually know or learn by experience.

Not receiving Jesus is the biggest error and causes a myriad of other errors.
